About Us

Our Story, Mission & Vision

We are not simply a tour company. We are not simply a coffee retailer. We are not simply a training institute. We are all of these things at once, woven together by one mission: to put Ugandan coffee, and Robusta in particular, on the global map as a symbol of quality, heritage and pride.

Who We Are

Who We Are

Coffee Safaris is Uganda's leading experience-driven coffee brand, built on a deep love and fascination for coffee, not just as a beverage, but as a cultural bridge, an economic engine and a global connector. We believe coffee is one of the most powerful stories a country can tell, and Uganda's story has not yet been told loudly enough.

From Farm to Cup

What began as a passion project rooted in curiosity about where coffee truly comes from has grown into a diverse, multi-dimensional brand offering farm tours, retail products, corporate and community experiences, professional training, mobile activations and a fully digital coffee marketplace. Today, Coffee Safaris sits at the intersection of agriculture, tourism, education, hospitality and commerce, and we are building ourselves to be the go-to entity for anything related to Ugandan coffee, locally, regionally and globally.

Our Story & Philosophy

How many people who drink coffee every day actually know where it comes from?

For most people, whether in Kampala, London or New York, coffee is something that appears, ready-made, in a cup. Few ever see the farm it grew on, the hands that picked the cherries, the sun-drying process, the roasting, or the generations of farming knowledge passed down in Uganda's coffee-growing communities. We saw a gap, and more importantly, an opportunity: to help people understand and fall in love with the entire journey of coffee, from farm to cup. Our philosophy rests on three pillars.

What Drives Us

Our Three Pillars

Education

Coffee should be understood, not just consumed. We make coffee education fun, interactive and accessible to everyone, from schoolchildren to CEOs, from tourists to future coffee entrepreneurs.

Experience

People remember what they feel more than what they are told. Every Coffee Safaris offering is built to be immersive, sensory and memorable.

Pride

Uganda has an extraordinary coffee heritage that deserves to be celebrated with confidence. We are proud storytellers of that heritage, at home and abroad.

This philosophy has shaped Coffee Safaris into far more than a business: it is a movement to reposition Ugandan coffee as a premium, prestigious, world-class product, told through unforgettable experiences.

Our Origin

Uganda: The Birthplace of Robusta Coffee

Any conversation about coffee inevitably centers on origin, and Uganda's origin story is unmatched. Uganda is recognized as the birthplace of Robusta coffee, with wild Robusta coffee trees indigenous to the forests along the shores of Lake Victoria and the Central and Western regions of the country.

Coffee is not a foreign crop that was merely introduced to Uganda: it is native to Uganda. Long before the global coffee trade existed, coffee cherries were already part of Ugandan culture, chewed and shared in social and ceremonial contexts among communities in the Buganda region. This cultural depth gives Ugandan coffee a story that goes far beyond flavor notes: it is a story of ancestry, land and identity.

Today, coffee is Uganda's top agricultural export and a livelihood for millions of smallholder farming households across the country. Coffee Safaris exists to close the gap between that scale and its recognition, to ensure that when the world thinks of great coffee origins, Uganda is spoken of with the same reverence as any other coffee-producing nation, and Robusta is celebrated as the sophisticated, versatile and proudly Ugandan crop that it is.
